Designed to enhance the efficiency and quality of submerged arc welding (SAW) processes, our Ceramic Weld Backing provides a reliable, high-performance solution for achieving flawless backside bead formation. By utilizing a ceramic material with low thermal conductivity, it effectively retains heat within the weld pool, promoting slower cooling and acting as a thermal buffer. The alkaline properties of the ceramic further react with impurities such as FeS in the molten metal, aiding in desulfurization and ultimately improving the mechanical and metallurgical properties of the weld.
