Product Introduction
Ceramic liners are materials with a variety of excellent properties that are widely used in many fields. The following is a detailed introduction to them:
Performance Characteristics
• Physical Properties: They have extremely high hardness, with a Mohs hardness of typically over 9, and outstanding wear resistance, effectively resisting material wear and impact. Additionally, they have high strength, high rigidity, and good thermal stability, with high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficients, enabling them to withstand significant temperature changes.
    • Chemical Properties: It has excellent chemical stability and strong resistance to acid and alkali corrosion. It can withstand most strong acids, strong alkalis, molten salts, and high-temperature oxidative environments, maintaining stable performance even in harsh chemical conditions.
• Insulation Properties: Ceramic liners typically have good insulation properties, with low high-frequency loss, effectively isolating current to prevent issues such as leakage and short circuits, ensuring safe equipment operation.
Classification
•    By shape: There are cylindrical ceramic gaskets, commonly used for welding circular pipes or gaps; flat gaskets, suitable for flat welds and widely used; and corner gaskets, used for right-angle or other angled welds.
•    By material: The main types include alumina ceramic gaskets, which have good overall performance and relatively low cost; silicon carbide ceramic liners, which have superior hardness, strength, and thermal conductivity, suitable for high-temperature and high-wear environments; and silicon nitride ceramic liners, which have high toughness and thermal shock resistance.
Application Areas
• Welding field: Widely used in welding processes in industries such as shipbuilding, bridges, boilers, pressure vessels, and steel structures. As a backing support, it can force the formation of the back weld, eliminate the need for root cleaning, reduce the workload of welders, and improve welding efficiency and quality.
• Industrial equipment protection field: Used in mining equipment such as crushers and ball mills, blast furnaces and converters in the steel industry, and grinding equipment in the cement industry, it effectively protects equipment from wear and chemical corrosion, extending equipment lifespan.
    • Other fields: It can also be applied to wafer transfer equipment in semiconductor and photovoltaic manufacturing, reactors and pumps/valves in high-temperature and corrosive chemical and metallurgical fields, sealing rings in high-end mechanical seals, as well as aerospace and energy sectors.
Installation and usage guidelines
• Select appropriate backing pads: Choose ceramic backing pads of suitable shape, size, and material based on the shape, dimensions, and welding process requirements of the welded components.
    • Secure the pad: Use high-temperature resistant tape to securely fix the ceramic pad to the back of the weld seam to prevent shifting or detachment during welding.
• Control welding parameters: Adjust welding parameters such as current, voltage, and welding speed according to the characteristics of the ceramic pad and welding process requirements to ensure welding quality.
