High Deposition Efficiency & Contamination Resistance – Key Advantages
ER70S-6 is a 500 MPa-class copper-coated carbon steel solid wire for CO2 or 80% Ar + 20% CO2 gas-shielded welding. It provides high deposition efficiency and strong resistance to oxide scale and oil contamination on the base metal surface.
Smooth Arc & Clean Welding
The wire delivers stable arc burning, low spatter, good bead appearance, and low porosity sensitivity.
All-Position Capability with High Deposition Efficiency
Good all-position welding process performance; suitable for a wide welding current range; high deposition efficiency.
Low-Temperature Toughness – Impact Toughness at -30°C
The deposited metal meets ≥27 J at -30°C (example value: 108 J), indicating good low-temperature impact toughness.
Stable Performance with CO2 or Ar/CO2 Shielding
Designed for CO2 or 80% Ar + 20% CO2 shielding. With Ar-rich gas, better bead appearance and lower spatter can be obtained; however, argon-induced white spots should be prevented by using high-purity gas and proper welding technique.

2. Welding heat input directly affects the mechanical properties of the weld. The heat input should be selected according to the importance of the structure. For more critical structures, use lower heat input as much as possible.
3. The provided welding parameters are for reference only. Users should establish suitable welding procedures according to actual conditions.
4. When using Ar-rich gas shielding, better bead appearance and lower spatter can be obtained. However, argon-induced white spots should be prevented by using high-purity gas and proper welding technique.
5. Excessive welding heat input will seriously affect the mechanical properties, crack resistance, and tightness of the weld, and should be given more attention.
6. When using Ar-rich shielding gas with spray transfer, to prevent severe arc short-circuiting and porosity, do not set the arc voltage too low, and the arc length should be 4–5 mm.
7. When using Ar-rich gas shielding, strictly remove oil, rust, moisture, and other impurities from the welded surface. Gas flow rate should not be too high, gas purity must be high, and moisture content should be minimized.
