Product Introduction
TA1 Titanium Welding Wire: The Foundation for High-Purity Titanium Welding
TA1 titanium welding wire is the highest purity welding material in the pure titanium series, meeting Grade 1 pure titanium standards. It is specifically designed for TIG welding of pure titanium components with high requirements for purity and ductility, and performs exceptionally well in low-stress, high-corrosion environments.
Material and Core Performance
TA1 belongs to Grade 1 pure titanium, with titanium purity ≥99.8% and stricter impurity control (iron ≤0.15%, oxygen ≤0.18%). It is the grade with the best ductility among pure titanium alloys. Key performance characteristics:
    • Mechanical Properties: Tensile strength 370–450 MPa, elongation ≥25%, superior ductility compared to TA2, weld joints better withstand deformation, suitable for components requiring subsequent processing.
• Corrosion Resistance: Comparable to TA2, stable in neutral and weakly acidic environments, but with slightly lower oxidation resistance (more suitable below 300°C).
Welding process characteristics
• Protection requirements: Requires 99.99% pure argon for all-around protection (nozzle + back + shield), as high purity makes it more prone to oxygen and nitrogen absorption at high temperatures. Welding zone temperature must be strictly controlled below 800°C to prevent grain coarsening.
    •    Operational characteristics: The arc is gentle, and the melt pool fluidity is slightly weaker than that of TA2. It is suitable for welding thin components (≤3 mm). When performing multi-layer welding, the interlayer temperature must be below 150°C.
Application scenarios
•    Typical applications: Medical devices (titanium implants, surgical instruments), food industry (welding of titanium containers), precision instrument components, and other fields with extremely high requirements for purity and ductility.
    • Base Material Compatibility: Primarily used for welding TA1 pure titanium base materials, it can also be used for low-stress welding of TA2 thin components, but is not recommended for high-strength titanium alloys.
Storage and Usage Tips
Store in a sealed container in a dry environment, avoiding oil contamination and fingerprints (wipe with anhydrous ethanol before welding); Welding wire diameter typically ranges from 1.0 to 2.0 mm, supplied in spools (e.g., 5 kg per spool), suitable for precision welding operations.
Summary
TA1 titanium welding wire stands out for its high purity and excellent ductility, making it the core material for pure titanium welding in precision and high-cleanliness applications. Strict protective processes and impurity control are critical to ensuring its performance.
